Deckers Brands ASRS Operator

The ASRS Crane Operator / Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of WRX Daifuku Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) cranes. This role supports daily storage and retrieval operations, monitors system performance, responds to alarms and faults, and performs basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime while maintaining strict safety and accuracy standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate Daifuku ASRS cranes for automated storage and cases

• Monitor crane activity via Daifuku and Pyramid interfaces

• Respond to Daifuku system alarms, fault codes, and error messages in a timely manner

• Perform first-level troubleshooting of cranes, and sensors

• Safely clear product jams, misaligned loads, or obstructions following Daifuku and site safety procedures

• Verify inventory accuracy and confirm correct load placement and retrieval

• Conduct routine visual inspections of cranes, rails, forks, sensors, and safety devices

• Escalate mechanical, electrical, or PLC-related issues to maintenance or engineering teams

• Document faults, corrective actions, and downtime in system logs or CMMS

• Support preventive maintenance activities when required

• Assist with system recovery after emergency stops, power interruptions, or fault conditions

• Work closely with maintenance, IT, and operations teams to optimize ASRS performance

• Strictly follow Daifuku ASRS safety protocols, including restricted access zones

• Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and confined space procedures

• Use required PPE and maintain situational awareness around automated equipment

• Immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or system anomalies

QUALIFICATIONS: Required qualifications needed in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.

Education/Certifications:

• High school diploma or GED

• Experience working in automated or highly mechanized environments

• Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills

• Ability to interpret HMI messages, alarms, and system prompts

• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness Work Experience:

• Hands-on experience with Daifuku ASRS equipment

• Familiarity with PLC-controlled systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.)

• Experience with WMS/WCS platforms integrated with Daifuku automation

• Maintenance, automation, or mechatronics background • Forklift or industrial equipment certification
