Job Details

The position is part of UNIQLO’s R&D Department, which is responsible for commercializing the LifeWear concept—clothing designed to improve everyday life for people of all backgrounds. Designers and pattern makers are based in six global hubs (Tokyo, Shanghai, Paris, London, New York, and Los Angeles), with Tokyo as the central base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pattern-making for a wide range of women’s apparel: outerwear, bottoms, shirts, cut-and-sew, sweaters, innerwear, loungewear, and dresses.
  • Assignments will reflect your field of expertise (e.g., woven, knit, cut-and-sewn).

Required Skills:

Required:

  • At least 5 years of experience in creating specifications and patterns for women’s products.
  • Experience with woven, cut & sewn, knit materials.
  • Proficiency in CAD (patternmaking).
  • Strong communication skills in Japanese (JLPT N1 or equivalent).

Preferred:

  • Experience with CAD (grading), Excel, and Illustrator.
  • English communication skills at TOEIC 700+ level or willingness to improve.
  • A practical skills test may be conducted during the selection process.
